Choose tack that have been designed and tested by horseman specifically with your horse in mind.

Our double braided polyester rope has been designed to make horse tack from, not all marine ropes work well for the equine world.

Don't mistake the price for quality, since I buy directly from a mill here in the United States, there is no middle man, therefore I can offer my tack at a cheaper price for exceptional quality.

Double Braided Polyester ropes are;

* firm or soft and durable unlike cheap halter cords and webbing, Polyester will not harden or powder with age. It is unaffected by water, will not rot, mold or mildew and is resistant to most acids and oils.

Cheap polypropylene halter cords and webbing have a much lower breaking strain (about 30% less) and lose another 30% per year through age. Polyester ropes lose only 3% per year making ropes that can be relied on not to break.

Knots tied in polyester will hold tight, but can always be undone should adjustment be required.

* fully washable when it gets dirty just throw it into the washing machine to look good as new. Polyester can be washed with normal household detergents in warm water.

* color fast will have only minor fading over the long life of the rope.

* low abrasion polyester produces less friction so that means a greatly reduced chance of rope burn and less abrasion on your horse’s skin. Combined with a comfortable weight in the hand our Double Braid rope is perfect for all natural horsemanship techniques.

* 100% polyester that will be kind and strong, last many years. Polyester is the material that most marine ropes are made from and is used on the outside jacket of climbing ropes to protect them from abrasion. Even high-tech exotic ropes like spectra use polyester to protect them from wear and UV light.

It is common knowledge that snaps break and are the weak part of any rope tack.

We think this is a solution to snaps.

Tied in a simple manner like you would tie your halter, they hold tight and are not as heavy as a snap can be.

With heavy use they will last much longer than a metal snap.

They work great on leads, reins or anything that needs to be connected together.

The best part is they come in the same great colors as the other rope items.

These work great on those leads or reins with the snaps sewn on. When the snap breaks, you can feed the snap alternative through and still use your lead or reins.

These have been professionally strength tested.

Tied the way we suggest in the pictures below using the soft rope, a machine slowly pulled from both ends and measured the breaking point in pounds. The rope did not actually break, but at 2000 pounds the knot on the long end pulled through.

This test confirmed what we already knew after years of using this rope, but now it has been proven. These will hold if tied correctly, don't under estimate the strength by the size of the rope!!!!

I asked a customer to write a testimonial, this was her reply.

OK, so why do I like them so much??....

I do not use a snap on the end of my lead as my sensitive horse doesn't need the extra weight to get a message across. To attach my lead to the rope halter, I was feeding the popper end of the lead through the loop end which can be frustrating... especially when using a 22' line, that is a lot of rope to feed through the loop! With the Snap Alternative this problem is eliminated! It is light weight and easy to use so I can detach my lead from the halter when I need to without too much of a fuss. Metal snaps can break at the worst of times but because the Snap Alternatives are made of the same rope as the halter I don't have to worry about them breaking. The Snap Alternatives work great on reins too! I don't like the added weight of heavy metal snaps attached to my reins so this is a great way to attach the reins to the bit or side pull. If I need to, I can use my reins as a lead by undoing the Snap Alternative from the bridle and attaching it to the rope halter. I don't think I'd buy a metal snap again... these are great! Everyone should have some of these in their tack box!

Here are pictures to show how to connect them to a lead to be used with a halter.
The 3 pieces... halter, lead, snap alternative - Can work the same with a rein and what you are connecting them to.
Feed end of lead through loop end and put snap alternative through loop made. Doing this holds the snap alternative in place.
Tighten lead loop
Feed long end of snap alternative through loop of halter and loop of snap alternative
Tighten
Long end over...
And behind...
And through loop made
Tighten... the finished product!

Finished product in use.

Another way to tie them.

Snap Alternative
Feed before knot through loop to create another loop
Feed knot through the the loop you just created
Tighten and your done!

They can simply be attached to the reins like this on Bits or AB Side Pulls.

Thank you Daisy for being a great model and Lorie for taking the great pictures.
